The Aircraft Mechanic-Airframe performs organizational, intermediate and limited depot level maintenance to include inspection, operational test, repair, modification and troubleshooting on all assigned aircraft, components and equipment. Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems and to provide technical assistance, guidance and instruction to other employees as needed. Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on assigned T/M/S aircraft to include the repair of airframe components, hydraulic components, preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance discrepancies performs miscellaneous duties to service aircraft, including cleaning screens and filters, greasing moving parts, and checking brakes. Supervises the jacking of aircraft, enters in the maintenance records description of the work performed and verifies the work was performed satisfactorily, may service airframe components at line station making repairs, short of overhaul, required to keep aircraft in safe operating condition. May specialize in work, repair and modification of structural, precision, and functional spare parts and assemblies. Physical & Working Environment This classification activity is usually accomplished in a hangar/shop/flight line environment and as such requires the scope of physical movements and postures normally associated with these activities. May be required to lift objects whose weight normally will not exceed 50 pounds. LTA Research and Exploration, an aerospace start-up, is seeking an Avionics Technician specializing in systems integration on research and development flight vehicles. In order to help advance our goal of bringing revolutionary airships to life, the Avionics Technician will work directly with the appropriate company personnel to organize, plan, and execute the troubleshooting, installation, and inspections of various subsystems. This position will also provide flight operational support as required. Responsibilities: * Four years’ experience in an avionics/electrical career field or two years of accredited schooling in aviation electronics plus two years of aviation experience. * Performs tasks to include the removal/installation of avionics electrical components, fabrication of wire harnesses, installations, terminations, ring-out, and functional tests of avionics/electrical systems. * Without supervision, performs the installation and functional testing of electrical/avionics components and systems per engineering specifications, drawings and maintenance manuals ensuring a defect free system. * Troubleshoots processes/concepts to provide timely, quality repairs of malfunctioning systems. * Demonstrates the skills and knowledge required to effectively and efficiently repair or replace defective components and wiring to ensure installations meet conformity. * Sets up necessary test equipment; conducts functional and operational tests to evaluate performance and reliability. * Ensures that all work performed on the aircraft is properly and completely documented and ready for inspection. * Complies with the company FOD program, tool control program, 6-S program, and all safety regulations.
