*Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor*

*Job Summary*
The *Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor* is responsible for overseeing *daily maintenance operations*, ensuring compliance with *FAA regulations and air carrier maintenance programs*. This role provides *leadership, training, and development* to maintenance personnel while maintaining the highest *quality, safety, and operational efficiency*.
*Key Responsibilities Leadership & Supervision*
* Supervise, guide, and *prioritize tasks for assigned maintenance teams* across multiple specialties.
* Ensure all work, including *subcontractor tasks*, is performed *airworthy and compliant with approved technical data*.
* Provide *regular performance coaching, training, and career development* for mechanics.
* Identify and *mentor future supervisors*, helping develop *leadership and technical skills*.
* Communicate *aircraft status and operational needs* with Leads, teams, and customers.
*Maintenance Oversight*
* Oversee *aircraft maintenance, preventive maintenance, and alterations* to ensure compliance with FAA regulations.
* Validate *materials and equipment availability* for scheduled work, coordinating with internal support teams.
* Collaborate with *Engineering teams* to ensure technical responses align with aircraft delivery schedules.
* Ensure *on-time aircraft delivery* by managing labor resources and project timelines effectively.
* Review *routine and non-routine labor hours* to optimize efficiency and reduce overruns.
*Safety & Compliance*
* Maintain *audit-ready, hazard-free work areas* to ensure compliance with *FAA, OSHA, and SMS* safety requirements.
* Identify and eliminate workplace hazards to improve *employee safety and work quality*.
* Promote and enforce the *Balanced Technician concept* within the team.
* Conduct and participate in *safety inspections, training, and compliance reviews*.
*Process & Performance Optimization*
* Drive *process improvements* to enhance *efficiency, quality, and workflow*.
* Monitor *timekeeping and payroll entries* to ensure accurate reporting and labor tracking.
* Assist in budget planning, *cost control, and variance analysis* for assigned maintenance projects.
* Ensure team members adhere to *company policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance guidelines*.
*Supervisory Responsibilities*
* *Lead and develop aircraft maintenance teams*, ensuring compliance with *FAA, company, and safety standards*.
* Conduct *employee performance evaluations, training, and disciplinary actions* as necessary.
* Ensure a *collaborative and professional work environment* that aligns with company values.
*Required Qualifications Education & Certification*
* *Airframe or Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certification – Required*.
* *Minimum five (5) years of commercial aircraft maintenance and/or MRO experience – Preferred*.
* *Minimum two (2) years of aircraft maintenance leadership experience – Preferred*.
*Skills & Experience*
* Strong knowledge of *FAA regulations (FAR Part 121 & 91 carriers)*.
* Experience with *aircraft inspection methods, tooling, and technical documentation*.
* Proficiency in *Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and enterprise systems* (Oracle, AutoTime, Gateway).
* Strong *project management, organizational, and multitasking skills*.
* Excellent *problem-solving, negotiation, and conflict-resolution abilities*.
* Ability to *motivate, train, and delegate tasks* while ensuring high-quality maintenance performance.
*Work Conditions & Physical Requirements*
* *Physical Demands:* Requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs.), and working at heights.
* *Work Environment:* Exposure to *high noise levels, moving machinery, hazardous materials, and various weather conditions*.
* *Security Requirements:* May require *SIDA or AOA security badge clearance*.
