Aircraft Mechanic (Fast Track to A&P)

*Job Summary*

Veterans Alliance is now accepting applications for the *Aircraft Mechanic Fast Track Program* in *Wichita, Kansas*. This is a unique opportunity for military veterans with mechanical experience to earn their *A&P license* through a *6-week training and certification program*, followed by a *4-month contract-to-hire* position in *heavy, modification, and line maintenance* on fixed-wing aircraft.

*Veterans with a signed 8610-2 and DD-214 are strongly encouraged to apply.*

*Key Program Details*

* *6-week paid training program* to prepare for A&P test (no tools required during this phase)

* Receive *hands-on support* from Bombardier to test and certify

* Pay increases to *$33–$41/hour (DOE)* after earning A&P

* Must remain employed with Bombardier for 1 year or repay training/testing costs

* Eligible for reassignment to other Bombardier sites after 1 year

*Key Responsibilities (Post-Training)*

* Perform heavy maintenance, line checks, and structural modifications on fixed-wing aircraft

* Read and interpret blueprints, tech manuals, and maintenance documents

* Troubleshoot mechanical and structural issues

* Ensure documentation is compliant with FAA and company regulations

* Work collaboratively with team members to meet deadlines and quality standards

*Qualifications*

* High school diploma or GED

* *8610-2 form signed by FAA – REQUIRED*

* *DD-214 – REQUIRED*

* *3+ years of mechanical/aviation experience* (military experience accepted)

* Must pass drug screening and background check

* Authorized to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship available)

* Willing to commit to 1-year employment post-certification

* *Pay During Training:* $30/hour

* *Per Diem:* Up to $720/week

* *Blended Pay (Post-A&P):* $33–$41/hour DOE

* *Work Scope:* Heavy, Modifications, Line Maintenance

* *Assignment Type:* 4-Month Contract-to-Hire

* *Interview:* Phone or Virtual (Response within 24–72 hours)

* *Orientation Start:* *August 18*
