JOB TITLE: Aircraft Final Line Mechanic I

LOCATION: Savannah, GA

PAY RATE: $25.65/hour

Qualifying Questions:

Summary:

Work in a team-oriented environment to install parts, components, lines, cables, etc., in assigned areas

Use appropriate tools, prints, specifications, and procedures to complete tasks through final inspection

Ensure conformance to specifications and support mentoring of junior mechanics

Assemble, install, and adjust aircraft structural parts and system components

Rig control cables, sectors, linkages, control surfaces, landing gear, engines, doors, cowls, and associated hardware

Remove and replace system components; cut and fit lines and hardware for repairs

Ensure quality and efficiency of all installations; perform rework as needed to ensure conformity

Install system lines, valves, ducts, and hardware to ensure leak-free operation

Use various tools and equipment (permaswage pumps, dies, line cutters, gauges, etc.)

Troubleshoot mechanical and structural issues to support basic repairs

Update and sign logs and records as required

Check own work and potentially inspect work of junior mechanics for defect-free installations

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in line with FOD and 5S programs

Demonstrate manufacturing competencies during performance reviews

Maintain and utilize logs such as MIR sheets, DMTs, Crabs, and PCOs

Participate in and support continuous improvement initiatives

Support aircraft certification and final phase testing, including flight tests as required

Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED required

5 years of aerospace/aviation or equivalent mechanical experience (e.g., auto mechanics, heavy equipment)

2 years of aircraft experience preferred

FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license preferred

Ability to climb ladders and stairs, work in confined areas, and lift up to 50 lbs

Experience with Solumina and Smarteam preferred

Ability to read/interpret blueprints and schematic diagrams

Skilled in close tolerance work (e.g., drilling, reaming, fitting parts)

Proficient in operating hydraulic mule pumps, fixtures, and jigs

Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
