JOB TITLE: General Mechanic – Airframe (Entry-Level)

LOCATION: Trumbull, CT

PAY RATE: $23.50/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Job Details:

Job Type: Contract (12 months with potential for extension)

Shift: 4/10 – 1st Shift

Note: This is a safety-sensitive position and requires participation in an FAA-approved Drug and Alcohol screening program.

Qualifying Questions:

Summary:

Work independently with minimal supervision.

Use precision measuring tools (feeler gauges, dial indicators, micrometers, calipers).

Perform component repairs using filing, stoning, lapping, and polishing techniques.

Operate hand and power tools for drilling, sanding, and riveting.

Accurately document evaluations and communicate repair requirements for in-house or outsourced work.

Follow all FAA, EASA, EH&S regulations and company policies and procedures.

Interpret and follow Component Maintenance Manuals, service bulletins, ORIs/OREIs, drawings, and check sheets.

Use torque wrenches in compliance with SAC torque specifications (SS9300).

Perform chemical treatment of repaired surfaces per approved data.

Review documentation to verify part identification, operational sequence, and proper recording.

Conduct machining tasks: drilling, reaming, tapping, stud changes, helicoil and bushing/liner installations using shrink fit and arbor press methods.

Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED required

Automotive trade school preferred

FAA Airframe License preferred (not required)

Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
