They are required to maintain the airworthiness of aircraft and all their components. Inspectors work according to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and company regulations and procedures. Inspectors certify the quality of workmanship, including signing mechanical flight releases. Responsibilities of A&P Certified Aircraft Inspector: * Update computer maintenance tracking programs with current information on a regular basis; generate maintenance due lists * Perform duties delegated by the Chief Inspector * Maintain and oversee maintenance records for all aircraft on property * Review work packages for accuracy and completeness of paperwork * After completion of work by the crew, in cooperation with the Chief Inspector, inspects the work to determine the job is completed and is of the best quality possible * Familiarize self with all the current pertinent FAA specifications, air worthiness directives, manufacturer's instructions, bulletins, technical data, and other approved data applicable to the unit being inspected * Assure that all the parts rejected or found un-serviceable by are properly marked and tagged * Properly execute the malfunction and defect report FAA form 8010-4 as necessary * Proper execution of FAA form 337 and maintenance release pertinent to all items returned to service * Perform preliminary, hidden damage, in progress, and final inspection of all assigned aircraft * Ensure that no defective or un-airworthy parts are installed any component or unit returned to service * Follow policies and procedures as detailed in the Air Carrier and Repair Station manuals. Requirements of the A&P Certified Aircraft Inspector: * Hold a Mechanic's Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings. We are seeking an experienced Aircraft Engine Inspector, with a strong background in maintenance, repair, overhaul, troubleshooting and inspection of PT6A Series engines. The LUH72 Aircraft Technical Inspector is responsible for ensuring that assigned aircraft are maintained within required specifications and are airworthy before operation. Inspects repairs and modification of aircraft structures, structural components and engines of complex to extreme difficulty. Plans, conducts, and supervises aircraft technical inspections. Develops and implements quality control and ground safety programs to ensure compliance with contract specifications. Evaluates personnel, including verification of skills, training and experience. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Review the scope and detail of inspection requirements and inspect aircraft and components by obtaining and interpreting work cards. Complete a visual inspection of aircraft areas opened by mechanics, including by not limited to fuel tanks, empennage, cargo areas, under floor areas, fuselage skin, engines, pylons, wings, flight control surfaces, flight decks, and landing gear. Identify non-routine work on aircraft systems, including but not limited to engine performance, pneumatic/hydraulics, pressurization, air conditioning, electrical, fuel and flight controls.
